Bizarro is in portuguese too the name given in portuguese to the weird, the outlandish. But a thing that I didn´t know and that I have read today at wikipedia is that in portuguese speaking(and the english speaking!) world Bizarro was also a name given to two of the greatest enemies of Superman, and that both were faulty clones of Superman.
The two versions of the here called Bizarro have a misunderstanding of words, take for instance To Save = To Kill, Good=Evil and Love=Hate. And the result of that imperfection is what takes him to be an evildoer, so that in many ocasions Bizarro casues many problems for trying to act as Superman, though in the end he always fails due to his bizarre logic.
THe original Bizarro was created by crazy scientifics, in an attempt to clone Superman. In a later version, Bizarro was created by Lex Luthor, who tries to use a duplicating ray over an adult Superman. But what was captivating here was this new definition of the bizarre.
Because, as you know, we have tried several times to find the exact meaning of the word bizarro from the definitions given in different languages. We also knew that he hispanic bizarre is always a corageous phenomenum, but what we had no idea at all, was of the heroical fact that Bizarro himself tries to save the world and he only mismanages simple due to his abnormality.
But in any case, what we are scandalized about is the implications of this version of the Bizarre in the english-speaking world. Is the bizarre a dangerous creature? Is the different one, the weird, the rare, something which has to be banned? The nasty unique way of thinking was supposed to have an origin, but I would have never thought that one was in Superman´s comics.

No, Lex Luthor is Superman's greatest enemy. Bizarro is just a product of a Luthor's unsuccessful experiment. But despite that Bizarro is one of the greatest enemies of the Man of Steel.
